On June 28th Facebook™ made it available for users to see what active ads are running for ANY business page. This is huge for businesses and marketers alike to help optimize their Facebook ad strategy. In this post, I will show you how to see other page’s Facebook™ ads.
A few different ways this could be useful:
- A local business could check out the ads of their major competitors in their market and help model their own strategy off somebody already successful. (Tony Robbins would be proud)
- A marketer, like myself, could use this to check out ads ran by a unique business category that we have never worked with before to help brainstorm ideas.
- Click through on the ad to see what type of bot, form, or page you land on to further study a sales funnel.
In this example, let’s pretend we are a local tire shop who doesn’t know where to begin when it comes to the creative and copy we should have. Let’s pull up Firestone for example. We all know Firestone and I would imagine they have a marketing team putting together a good campaign that we can research and model for our own ad.
Step 1: Search for Firestone Tires
Step 2: Click on “Info and Ads”
Step 3: You can now see a list of active ads by Firestone Tires. Check through the list and see which ads catch your attention. If it catches your attention, most likely it catches other people’s attention as well! For this example, we can all see that that the CTA (Call to Action) tells us to “Learn More”.
Step 4: Click “Learn More” to see the next step in this particular sales funnel.
We can see that we landed on a sales page for the all-terrain tires that were on the rugged truck in the video. The sales page is prompting us to schedule an appointment.
You have now “spied” on your competition. Don’t you feel cool?
